Reviews Overview

Most Liked

Diners frequently rave about the outstanding service at Stumpknockers. Staff members are known for their friendliness and attentiveness, ensuring a pleasant experience from start to finish. Many applaud the generous portion sizes, which mean you'll leave satisfied without overspending. Notably, the blackened catfish is a standout dish that melts in the mouth, while the homemade Key Lime pie has gained a loyal following. The casual, cozy atmosphere feels like home, and the eclectic decor offers plenty to look at while you wait for your meal. Those who appreciate local specialties will find the Cajun stew bursting with flavors, reflecting the rich culinary traditions of Florida.

Most Disliked

While most reviews highlight a satisfying experience, a few diners have mentioned minor hiccups, such as inconsistent dish quality. For example, some patrons found the stuffed flounder lacking in flavor compared to other menu highlights. A couple of guests noted that during peak times, the noise level can become quite high, potentially detracting from the dining experience. Additionally, wait times on busy evenings, particularly Saturdays, can be longer than anticipated, though many agree that the food quality warrants the wait. It’s wise to plan ahead for busy times or consider visiting during off-peak hours to enjoy a more relaxed meal.

Excellent service, very friendly. Sandra was extremely busy and still took great care of us. Full liquor bar, nice variety of beer. The gentleman who seated us was awesome. The servings are plentiful. The blackened catfish was melt in your mouth good. Cajun stew was full of flavors. The homemade Key Lime pie was delicious. The atmosphere was great, so much to look at.

Not a single disappointment. Catfish was cooked perfectly. Conch fritters were some of the best I've ever had. The prime rib had my kid doing her happy dance and my father said it was the best ribeye steak he's had in Florida. ( A five star restaurant in VA is the #1 for him). Amya was our server and was on top of it all, all 22 of us. Drinks never went empty and the table stayed clean. We drove over an hour for this supper and it was well worth it. I'm sure we'll be back.

It's a real cool old Florida feel. The alligator steak is amazing as is almost everything on menu .I know it sounds weird but everyone we bring we recommend it and they love it. I wouldn't recommend the stuffed founder .Not great. Fried fish sandwich is amazing and lil cheaper than the fried fish dinner. Just order the sandwich and take bun off.Its same size as dinner.

Excellent food, large portions, decent prices. The house homemade blue cheese dressing was fantastic, best I've ever had! Definitely must stop Cajun style seafood restaurant.

Great wait staff at 3pm on Saturday March 1, 2025. Seated quickly since we beat the dinner rush. Shrimp cocktail came out quickly. I was hungry since just rode 30 miles on Withlachoochee Bicycle trail. Parked about a short block away- no problem. Hugh fish portion on fish taco special!! I took one fish taco back to hotel in a to go box. Husband loved his fried catfish! Great decor inside. Has outside seating available too.
